October is about Local Craft Brews, homemade Chili, Live Music and hunting for cool items at our outdoor Merchandise Market! But wait there's more!!! We are also hosting 2 major competitions for Things to do in the state Of Connecticut in October 2024!
The first event happening on October 12th starting at 1PM will be the Firehouse vs Police Station Chili Challange! We invited all of CTs firemen and police officers to enter their stations best pot of homemade chili. Our celebrity judges will be on hand to score and crown the grand prize winner!
The second event happening on October 12th and 13th on the main stage will be the CT Sing Competitions! This is a live talent contest open to amateur singers who live in the state of Connecticut. Anyone can enter by sending in a demo recording of themselves singing at least 2 minutes or more of a song with or without music. No backup vocals or singing over another voice is allowed. These demos will be blind judged and 20 contestants will be advanced to the live rounds happening October 12th and 13th on the CT Chili & Brew Fest main stage!

The Waterbury Police Activity League (PAL) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes partnerships between youth, law enforcement and the community through a variety of educational, athletic and recreational programs. One of them is the culinary arts program run by some of the most amazing chefs in CT and they will be the ones making the world famous chili bowls for this music festival, beer festival and chili festival all wrapped up in one giant street festival in Waterbury, CT on October 11th thru the 13th of 2024!

Its the ultimate homemade chili show down between Police and Fire Departments in CT! We wanna know who makes the meanest pot of homemade Station House Chili?
So we are inviting all CT Fire and Police departments to enter our homemade chili contest to see if its going to be Police or Fire? This challenge is only open to these departments and the Chili will be blind judged by our panel of celebrity and pro chef judges!
Click here to register your department! This is all part of a much larger music festival and beer festival happening at the same time so bring your entire crew down for the CT Chili and Brew Festival!
Competition chili is blind judged on the following criteria.
Each criteria is assigned a value of 10 points.
Top score would be 50 points (per judge)
• Aroma – Chili should smell appetizing
• Consistency – Chili should be a smooth combination of meat and sauce.
• Red Color – Chili should look appetizing.
• Taste – Heat and spices are taken into consideration.
• Aftertaste – Chili should leave a pleasant aftertaste.
